Holly Beach, founding owner of the Silly Yak Bakery, has been baking gluten-free breads and treats since June of 2002. “The reason I started baking gluten-free was due in part to stubbornness and in part to a passion for baking breads for EVERYONE to enjoy. When I found out how difficult it was to get gluten-free ingredients in bulk, I thought to myself how hard it must be for a person with Celiac disease to deal with obtaining safe and tasty foods on a day-to-day basis. From that point on, I was determined to make it work!”
Initially the Silly Yak Bakery dedicated one day per week to gluten-free baking. As Holly and crew started getting up earlier and earlier to bake, they soon realized that we needed to add a second gluten-free bake day. Thus gluten-free Tuesdays were begun!
Holly has made her dream of a full-time certified gluten-free baking facility a reality. They now bake gluten-free products daily! Stop in for a tour of the new facility.

Bordering Remington and Charles Village on the corner of Howard and 27th Streets, Sweet27 is a neighborhood restaurant. Two custom-painted murals, and artwork by local artists create a warm and casual atmosphere and is perfect for a night out.
In addition to our colorful murals of Baltimore celebrities painted by MICA students, our tables are custom designed to resemble traditional farm tables. The tables are all made from reclaimed Brazilian Pine and the legs are made from pallet parts that originally came from the Federal Reserve.
Designed to accommodate all tastes, Sweet27 allows everyone enjoy their dinner whether carnivorous, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, and soy free, and go home with a happy stomach. Born out of family food allergies and intolerances, Mi (Mimi) has been preparing gluten and dairy free foods for the last 10 years. Having been told repeatedly by friends that her baked goods were good enough to sell, she and Stu (Stephanie) recently decided that it was time to take the show on the road.
And so Mi&Stu Foods was created.
Our main focus is to provide non-contaminated, batch tested gluten free products that are delicious and satisfying. We have an ever expanding menu, new recipes always developing based on what our clients want and need.
